What the water is doing, where you actually fish.
Inshore Pulse is a conditions platform for the sounds, rivers and back creeks of eastern North Carolina. It reports weather, tides, solunar periods and water temperature at a point you choose on a chart-grade map — then records your catches against a frozen snapshot of the conditions you caught them in.
What it reports
Measured where it can be, modeled where it can’t — and labeled either way.
- Tides NOAA predictions and water levels, with the curve synthesised from real extremes at subordinate stations.
- Weather Forecast, wind and barometric pressure, including the pressure trend over a rolling observation window.
- Water temperature Your own thermometer reading first, then the nearest real station, then a model. Every reading carries its source, station and distance.
- Solunar Major and minor feeding periods, moon phase and illumination, in your local time.
- The map Depth, bottom type, grass beds, structure, wrecks and artificial reefs, with NEXRAD radar rendered contours.
- The log Catches and marked spots, private to your account, each frozen against the conditions at the moment you logged it.
Waters covered
Currituck Sound south to Core Sound, and up the rivers behind them.
The focus is inshore: the sounds, their tributary rivers, and the creek mouths off them — not the beach and not offshore. These are the water bodies with mapped creek mouths in the current dataset, with the number of mouths charted in each.

What it is not
Nothing here scores a spot or predicts a bite. There is no rating, no 0–100 number, no model telling you where the fish are. Inshore Pulse gathers the conditions, reconciles them, tells you where each figure came from, and leaves the judgement to you. Where a reading isn’t available, it says so rather than guessing.
